Day 1 – Shift 3

Before this shift starts, Blade Runners decide to spend promotion points and chinyen for upgrades, but before doing so, Holden calls Bakker and Fenna and they lose 1 promo point each for harassing Taffey at the Snake Pit

Novak:

•  5 promotion points for Insider
• 1 chinyen for undershirt armor (class C)
• 2 chinyen for sniper rifle

Bakker:

• 5 promotion points for Killer
• 1 chinyen for brass knuckles

Percival:

• 5 promotion points for Scientist

Fenna:

• 1 chinyen for survival knife
• 3 chinyen for surgeon field kit

Percival

  • Bob suggests checking Esper footage from the camera outside the shop for evidence of Leah
    • Esper footage shows Leah entering and leaving the shop, and then entering a narrow street nearby
  • Percival investigates the alley and sees that one of the buildings has a door not bolted shut

Fenna

• Animoid Row
  • Speaks with the Aurelian (maker of artificial butterflies)
    • Tells her about Leah and the Replicant Underground
  • Confronted by Styles, warns her to back off and leave Leah alone
  • She leaves in Spinner and rejoins Bakker

Bakker 

• Follows Styles into the alley after he confronts Fenna

Fenna and Bakker

• Call for backup (2 LAPD officers)
• Fight ensues with Styles and 2 replicants
• Fenna hit for 1 damage and receives a critical wound (impaled hand)
• Bakker hit for 3 damage Ava receives a critical wound (impaled hand)
• Styles killed by a pierced heart

Novak

• KILL Office
  • Speaks with Jelle Schylar, leading member of the anti-Replicant Empathy Movement
  • Tells Jelle about the Blackout, sensing the Jelle is interested in juicy information to get him to talk
  • Asks Jelle about Leah, Styles, Iris, and the events at the Snake Pit
    • Jelle confirms that he was at the Snake Pit on the night of the shooting, and claims that a brawl erupted when “the big albino” started to argue with Jelle and his friends
    •  Confirms that during the brawl, two Blade Runners intervened. The man pulled his blaster on Styles to arrest him, but then, out of nowhere, the female BR pulled her blaster and shot her partner in the chest. She ran into the street and Jelle saw her get into a Metrokab. He confirms that he’d seen her before, drinking at the Snake Pit

Fenna and Bakker cont’d

• After the fight with Styles, Fenna and Bakker find themselves at the Replicant Underground safehouse, where they find several clues
  • Postcard featuring the Hollywood sign
  • Off-world ad for Arcadia colony; ran a query about Arcadia from the KIAs
  • Issue of Synth Magazine, featuring a story of Lilith Tyrell and how she uses traumatic memories to control Replicants
  • Took cellphone as evidence
